Safeguarding & Child Wellbeing Policy

At Rapid Football Academy we are fully committed to promoting, supporting and safeguarding the wellbeing of every child and young person who takes part in our football activities.

We believe every child has the right to enjoy football in a safe, positive and inclusive environment, regardless of age, gender, disability, race, religion, sexual orientation, background or ability.

Our safeguarding approach follows the principles and guidance of the Scottish FA Child Wellbeing & Protection Policy and relevant Scottish safeguarding guidance.

Our Commitment

The welfare and best interests of children are at the heart of everything we do.

We are committed to:

  • Providing a safe, welcoming and enjoyable football environment.

  • Respecting children's rights and listening to their views.

  • Promoting equality, inclusion and respect.

  • Protecting children from abuse, neglect, bullying and inappropriate behaviour.

  • Ensuring concerns about a child's wellbeing are taken seriously and acted upon appropriately.

  • Ensuring coaches and volunteers understand their safeguarding responsibilities.

  • Using safe recruitment and selection procedures for those working with children.

  • Providing appropriate safeguarding training and support to coaches and staff.

  • Maintaining appropriate standards of behaviour and professional boundaries.

The Scottish FA recognises children as anyone under the age of 18 and places children's rights, wellbeing and protection at the centre of Scottish football.
